Getting Here
By public transport

Catch tram routes 1, 3, 3a 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 64 and 72 and alight at stop 1-Melbourne University/Swanston Street (Carlton). This is an accessible stop.

By bicycle

There are several bike paths to and from the University with plenty of spots close to the museum to park your bike. Here is a map of bicycle parking spaces and repair stands.

By taxi

The closest taxi rank is located on Grattan Street between Cardigan and Swanston Streets.

By car

There is metered street parking on Swanston and Elgin Streets.

The Ian Potter Museum of Art is wheelchair accessible and welcomes visitors of all abilities. In some circumstances there are access limitations, please contact staff for more information.

Venue Hire

IPMoA is currently under redevelopment. Spaces within the museum will be available for hire in 2024. For more information and to enquire about 2024 bookings, email the Museums & Collections events team at mc-events@unimelb.edu.au
